one person a year???? - and where are these figures from

the problem part of hooning isn't the wheel spin in an empty industrial area
it is how they drive after the wheel spin

hooning probably kills many - as many as the government would like for us to believe; maybe not, but many more than the average self confessed car enthusiast thinks

it would be good if both the government and most car enthusiasts lived in reality and not just cared solely about what serves them better

Daniel, I have no objection to the 'hobby', as such, provided it is done in a way and in a place so that the public is not put at risk.

I dont think you want to put people's lives at risk, do you? Dead Mums, dead Dads, dead kids, dead friends, etc?

Furthermore, if you want to do it in public places then get the appropriate permit. I am sure, in giving those permits, the public authorities wont let the public be at risk. If those going want to put themselves at risk at such events then that will be their choice.

But I and others shouldnt be subject to brain-dead jerks hooning in our suburban streets, just because they are too lazy to get permits to do it in safe places.

Here is a geat video showing people enjoying their hobby of drifting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUZzlJVu4PA

Alternatively, get it sorted on private property. Someone may want to take responsibility for the attendee's health and safety, even their lives, in such a senario. Perhaps you could be that person since you are quite keen to promote the hobby. But if you do, you could end up carrying the can if something goes wrong.

As far as ACA goes, I dont watch the show. Seems you do tho ... do you?
Furthermore, to call people idiots because they want quiet and safe neighbourhoods is a bit rich, dont you think?
I wonder what this guy thinks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq-j9TjxPR4
