Default We now own an EF too.

I just bought a 2/95 5 Speed EF wagon with LPG. I figured that was a pretty rare combination, the car had 11 months registration, and I didnt think the price was too unrealistic at $2600.

I think the interior is at leat as good as the AU.

I dont think the cruise control is working - so that may cost a little to fix. Anyone got any ideas? The "Cruise" light comes on, but the system wont engage when I press + or -.

I think I might start shopping for a new motor (or complete donor car) so as I need parts I dont have to pay retail. I have been told that good running EF's can be had for as little as $500 (auto) anyone know this part of the market well enough to confirm or deny?

Thanks

i doubt you'd get a decnt EF for $500, maybe and ex taxi, you'd love it eh. Sounds like a great buy, gotta love the 5 speeds and on gas should be a very economical Tank. Good luck with it.

Brake pedel switches eventually fail, and it'll cause the symptoms you've described. If you pull it apart, can generally bend it back into shape so it'll still work - at least enouhg to test if that's the problem.

Or if the taillight globes are blown apparently this will also stop the cruise from working. other than that, it could be the clock spring, the cruise module (actuator gears broken), broken or disconnected cable to TB, blown fuse.....etc.

Sounds like a good buy. you going to turbo this one?

Awesome buy TURBOTAXI, post up some pics. That is a very rare buy, I have only seen 3 manual E-series Wagons so far.

Thanks for the cruise tips.

No, no plans to turbo this one, this is the replacement for the lexus powered hilux that my partner and the kids get around in. She wants something very 'normal'.

I figured it was a rare combo because I have not seen many manual sedans let alone wagons with LPG as well. (the LPG is not factory though) I will post some pics once I have it tidied up.
