OK ... not sure if others have this problem with their cruise control .... or it's just a standard Ford feature.
I find that when engaging cruise control at your "desired" speed (this is using either SET + or SET -) that the car decides it is going to take off at full throttle and then back down to your set speed (most times going 15km/h over what I have set). But get this ... it doesn't do it all of the time though ... other times ... set it ... and it continues along nicely at the EXACT speed I want to be at. I am finding it annoying ... especially setting cruise this evening on the way to work as I had a cop slowly approaching from behind ... I decided I'd stay dead on the speed limit just to be safe .... I engage cruise .... BAM ... kick's back a gear and launches (with a fairly deep exhaust it VERY noticable). I am getting sick of it ... I have tried setting cruise using the SET - button only ... and sometimes I'll set it with my foot partly on throttle (to try and maintain speed) ... other times I set with no throttle at all ... just cruising. I just can't seem to find what is causing it. It is so intermittent. Any ideas ... any others with the same problems????

Sometimes when I push Set+ when Im already on cruise, Itll go up by about 10 Ks, and so I push Set- and it goes 10 ks less than what I originally had it set at. Only happens sometimes and I dont know why it does it.

Could possibly be the cable sticking.
Apart from that maybe the cruise module itself but I'd be going for the cable first. It's easy to disconnect and hook back up from the cruise module to check and or lubricate. Getting the cruise module is a bit fiddly to get out from under the fender though. Cheers

Yeah, i get the same thing sometimes...very annoying. I think what mattbl suggested about the cable sticking is the most likely cause.
Whats the best way to lubricate the cable?

Then just give it a little light oil. Singer sewing machine oil (3 in 1) is good for this type of thing. Saying that I think it wouldn't be much to replace either!! Cheers
