Default Infant seats in escorts

Hi guys, I would appreciate any help or advice on fitting infant seats to an escort, Capri or cortina. Haven't bought one yet, but thought it best I find out if it can be done safely before I shell out any cash. Shelby (3) and Harrison (1) will be riding with Dad in a classic ford, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Thanks

I'm unsure of the exact year (76 or 77), but child restraint anchoring points were fitted as standard from that time onwards. They can be fitted to older vehicles but will require engineers approval etc to be legal. I had a 77 Mk2 2 door Escort when my first 2 boys were young, great little car, but being a 2 door made it very difficult to get younguns in/out of the back.

Hi. Its not real hard to install the top anchor for a baby seat ( http://www.apvsafetyproducts.com/wps...df?MOD=AJPERES ). Just make sure you get a kit with the reinforcing washer and the other bits that go under the shelf ( spring washer and nut ) as I have seen some kits that just have the hook and a bolt and a spacer (all the top parts for a late model car). Cheers MD
