$800,000 Lamborghini the world's fastest police car
Date April 12, 2013 - 10:36AM Dubai police have taken delivery of a Lamborghini Aventador that will give them a better chance at running down exotic cars in the Middle East. The 350km/h Aventador Coupe is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds, and should be able to catch anything short of a Bugatti Veyron. Lamborghini’s super-coupe only has two seats, so officers might have to wait for backup before apprehending crims. It’s not the most practical choice, and we’re willing to bet that Dubai’s sunny climate would have made the new Aventador Roadster an equally appealing option for the force. Dubai’s finest won’t be the first to patrol the streets in a Lamborghini, as Italian highway patrol has run a V10-powered Gallardo supercar for several years. The 325km/h Gallardo is not used for pursuits, and is instead fitted with a cool box to move human transplant organs between hospitals in record time. A Nissan GT-R driven by Abu Dhabi police had been the fastest patrol car in the Gulf, but the new Lamborghini should have its measure. The Aventador is a much more impressive device than the special 400kW FPV GT and Porsche Panamera used by Police in Sydney.

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/201...bai-police-car
Dubai Police announced today that it had added a Lamborghini Aventador to its fleet of police vehicles. The 700-horsepower patrol car, which has been customised for highway patrols, can reach a top speed of 350km/h and came with a $520,000 price tag. The police force said its enhanced ability for patrolling and high-speed chases justified the purchase, in a city where 15 percent of all traffic fines are for driving at speeds in excess of 200km/h. A director of the police force was also quoted as saying that the aesthetic appeal of the car would help illustrate the city's class. Dubai Police announced the new addition through its twitter feed, @DubaiPoliceHQ, which precipitated an avalanche of tweets under the hash tag #OnlyinDubai. The Italian-made sports car is already on the streets, "although as a two-seater it's not going to be carting off many suspects," Time reports. Notice the fast 15% only get fined for eceeding 200K's no mention of cars impounded or crushed etc...do 40k's over any limit here and the fine is the least of your worries.

They compare this with a Falcon/Porsche that Aussie has for.....PR. And, they have a better economy/better jobs etc to be able to afford something like this, with better infrastructure to be able to support. Dumb comment really

The Gallardo in the first post was unfortunately crashed a few years ago. Not sure if it was fixed up.

He was referring to the part where it said that it isn't the first Lamborghini police car, and went on the say that Italy has been using a Gallardo for many years.
I just hope they don't get crazy thinking they're can't crash because of what it is. Every car has limits, just that when these ones are met it'll be a lot worse than a Corolla

Anything short of a Veyron eh? Try an SLR 722. Richard Hammond raced one in with a Murcielago & it beat the Lamborghini. Not by much. But trying to CATCH it would be a different story.
