Hi, 2006 WQ Fiesta Auto with 80,000 kms. Noticed coolant bottle empty last week so topped up. One week later needs topping up again. At no time has engine temp been other than normal.
No leaks on garage floor at home or at work. Checked the oil and it has thinned out and smells of coolant. Suspect head gasket but will get mechanic to look at it next week. Anyone had similar problem?. Any idea cost to repair?. Fez has been brilliant to date but I was not expecting this with so little k'ms. dom |

Check the heater matrix valve and thermostat.
I've never heard of a WP or WQ doing a head gasket!

Cheapest option is to replace the engine. Not worth the hassle of rebuilding it unless you're after performance.
Coolant in the oil is not good news.

In my haste I mistakenly took the trannny dipstick for the engine oil dipstick - making me the dispstick.
Anyway, no coolant in engine. Found a tiny leak in the radiater. Replaced and all is fine. |
