Default 2013, the year for change

Well guys, life has been a rollercoaster for a long time now, had 5th heart op in nov 11, came back to be made redundant whilst on leave for the op, could not find a job if I tried, my fiance and I split up after 9yrs, I was 30kg overweight at the very least.

In the last few months, I have dropped 15kg and still going, rekindled old friendships, more physically active and hoping to buy a couple kayaks, the ex and I are moving slowly to reconcile and just last week I was employed. Need another car so hoping to save 4k and get a 97 XR8 (fav one behind the ED) and that will be the icing on the cake. So after a rough start to 2013, it seems it may also be the year for change and good things happening for once.

Good news is good news. There's not enough of it around. Good luck with the missus.

I've just decided to make a big change - buggering work off and going to University to do a bachelor of science with a focus on geology. Well if I'm accepted. Can't stand being behind a desk anymore sitting on my ***. I want something which allows a certain freedom - and if I end up in the mines blowing stuff up for 6 figures all the better! hehe

cool. Would love the ability to just not work and go to uni, but not feasable in my situation. I might look into part time study but.

I'm doing OH&S Cert IV at night school through Kangan, online on Monday, 6-9pm on Thursday nights and doing my apprenticship at the same time.

Check out Open Universities Australia.

Sounds like you're heading in the right direction! Just keep a level head and your eye on the big picture. Remember, all good things take a bit of time so as long as you're patient, the worlds your oyster.
