although this isn't a Ford i still think it's a noteworthy inclusion for the Drag Racing section.
Twin 62mm turbo VC Commodore with an LS motor this weekend drove 1000km from QLD to Sydney, changed tyres, ran consistent 8.6's@160 and then put the tyres back on and drove her back home another 1000km. a 2000km round trip by an 8-sec car over a weekend, that is an unbelieveable effort! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dxdk5niK2Ns |

respect goes to guys who do this.
I find it amusing to see guys driving their cars to a drag strip and pulling quicker times than their fellow racers who trailer their rides to the track and back.

it's a great achievement, it's no lightweight, car would has to weigh a minimum of 1460kg to race in that class. would be great to see a Drag Week style event organised in Australia. |

exactly, that's the thing with turbo cars it makes it easier than people think. the old skool NA and blower guys have no idea how much easier a turbo car is to setup, you don't need big cams etc, just boooooost

I can appreciate any car that does a trip like that with a 8.6!!!!!
Bloody awesome. Ford or no Ford. Love it! Doesn't look like a 8.6 160mph car. |

anything in the 10's or faster i reckon is a quick street car. these day's if people see a turbo V8 they expect it to run 8's or quicker

Wow, this thing has come a long way, ultra impressive!
I ran this thing probably 9 years ago when it was NA and it was damn impressive then, but wow, what a machine!
