Hi fellas, as the title suggests I may have to tackle the job of replacing the brake master cylinder on a 2002 focus CL 1.8 which I believe has no ABS. Anyone tackled this before and is able to give me some pointers? I assume the bleeding procedure is the same as any other normal car, also any idea how much the cylinder itself should cost? Thanks in advance

Just get the cylinder bench-bled first and made sure you have the correct bleeding sequence.
Above all, make sure you're competent at this task! Never fool around with brakes!! |

you need good quality spanners to undo the lugs on the brake lines where they join the master cylinder as they strip easily. If you bleed the master cylinder before tightening the brakes lines back on the master cylinder you may be lucky and avoid air the system which requires lots of bleeding of fluid to get out.
