Hi All,
Anyone know of a dude that does mobile Time Sert work? I have a stripped thread on my Ducati, that helicoils haven't been able to sort. The helicoil goes in okay and such, however it can't hold the full amount of torque required. The helicoil also chews up the bolt and subsequently destroys the helicoil after a few uses of the bolt. I need a permanent solution. Cheers in advance. George

Heli coils are a waste of time. Keyserts are the only wat to go.
Most bolt places can get them, blackwoods ect and also Caterpillar sell them http://www.newmantools.com/key.htm

Also use them in aluminium brake caliper mounts and when installed properly increase the torque capacity of the alloy itself. the keysert seems to need a larger Diameter hole due to their thickness which on many applications isn't possible due to proximity to other things but given sufficient space are a good solution JP |

Tried loctite to hold the heli coil in?
Other than that I've used Devcon Fasmetal 10 to repair a bike engine block where it cracked/broke off around the sump bolts to good success. Cheers

GK, try selleys knead it, once dry you can drill and tap it to the right bolt size.
