I saw a huntsman run across the outside of my windscreen when I pulled up at work the other day.

I dont have a garage, so unfortunately I cant give the spraying-the-garage-out idea a go. I currently have no neighbours, so I cant ask/look to see if they're having the same issues either. May just have to do the whole area around the cars, there's a garden right near there so perhaps that could be where they're coming from. I want to get rid of this problem ASAP, because if I'm driving along and I have a spider crawl over me, I'm likely to freak out and that cant be a good thing when you're driving! |

I sometimes have issues with spider webs on my exterior mirrors, and I think it's very much dependent on where you park. If it's in an enclosed garage, there are a range of products that will be able to help prevent further issues. The garage where my Eunos lives has an ultrasonic device which makes a sound barely audible to the human ear that apparently makes creepy crawlies buzz off. Mortein (I think) made a spray that you put around entrances like doors which had a similar effect. I'm going to have to go through all this when my poor Falcon is ready to drive again. Good luck with it.

I hear that spiders can't breath underwater... drown them all.
Drive into a freshwater lake or river (saltwater is just silly, the car will taste salty) If they are inside, simply leave the windows down. Alternatively, if they are just inside, 1. Close up the car. 2. Insert garden Hose. 3. Turn tap Voila

I never had a problem with insect spray on the paint. I just spray it then give it a wipe to get rid of the excess. Hasn't damaged my paint at all. Keeps them away for quite some time.

I have been away a while. Krys has no licence, Dan has a T5, and an insect spray is a topic worthy of a 50-post thread. How interesting....

anyway BACK ON TOPIC, we got some insect spray stuff that you buy in a bottle and spray around the house/garden, it's supposed to last for a 3 months. Hopefully that will help fix the problem. I figured killing the spiders on the car isn't going to help, because they're obviously coming from somewhere. It's really annoying though, you jsut wash the car and you walk out a few housr later and there is bloody spider webs all over it! Argh! |

Anything thats going to be effective at killing spiders will also kill plants, animals, small children, peel paint off your house etx.
