I don't know the ins and outs of road design, but when it comes to designing lifting equipment there is a 'design load', and a 'working load'. The design load is always higher than the working load.

Granted, I'm not the most well travelled individual... but I'm not familiar with too many roads around the world sign posted at 160km/hr. Sure, there are some that you can legally do that speed on, but you can't suggest it's the norm.

But that is beside the point, I was just explaining that engineers include safety/service factors in their design calculations; I'm not actually getting into a debate about speed limits, cameras and revenue.

So you would have no objection at all to having to pay to have a GPS device fitted to your car then monitored by the Government everywhere you go and send out fines daily. But im sure you NEVER creep over the limit EVER so you will be just fine.

This is the track we in Australia is taking where other countries are ripping out cameras. Apparently we accept cameras so the next step will be GPS monitoring which has already been floated to cut off your engine if you exceed the limit too much...

And this thread is heading for the same fate as so many others.....

We all have differing opinions and views. Sometimes we can just agree that variety is what makes life interesting.

Certain types of cameras are not immune to certain car "accessories"

How accurate are these cameras? E.g, if it were set to 110 between points, and you were doing 112, would you get done? Or are there tolerances?
