Hiya all. Fairly new here. About to pick up an ST!
Was wondering...is it possible to somehow retrofit the MyFord Sync unit into the ST over here? I notice it's an 8" touchscreen as opposed to our 5" non touchscreen here. Appreciate any info! |

Wow, thinking that is a big call, whole centre dash would need a retrofit, sounds ultra complex if at all achievable, others may chime in to the contrary but can't see this happening without a heap of pain and dollars.

I hear ya. Looking at pics though, I wonder whether the whole dash needs to be swapped. It does look as though only the head unit has to be changed to the other version.
I may be wrong. Probably not worth it, but I do wonder why we get this smaller version here and not the full blown system! My guess would be the plant where they're made, but really? I wouldn't think it would be difficult to put a different head unit in. |

I cant help thinking this would be be something akin to heart surgery, with the appropriate price tag. Over to the experts for comment.

Me too. If you are keen on any cruises there are some organised periodically here and on sister sites, always good to see keen members for days out if interested.

Congrats on your purchase, these are an absolutely brilliant car and I'm sure you'll love it.
I found a website in the US recently that you could buy the parts for the MFT, it wasn't particularly cheap though - around $3000 by the time all parts were considered. Then there's the issue of whether the wiring loom is the same between the US and European built ST's, the touch screen version isn't available in Europe. There is also the sat nav, which may not work as well as the steering wheel controls which are different etc. |
