Talking No More Channel 9 & AFL
Roll on 2007. No more Friday nights with EDDIE calling a Collingwood game! Though I do Hope Dennis Cometti goes back to 7. Of course more free to air games as neither 7 or 10 are aligned with Fox (Yet!) Car'n the Crows!!

V8's will not be affected. Saturdays racing will be shown Saturday night after the football. Sunday will stay the same.

Finally the footy is back. i was sick of the telecasts by Channel 10. With it back where it belongs, we can go back to Friday night footy at 8.30 and not after 11.30 and not after the rugby league. Last few years have been a joke. Foxtel couldn't show the games on fox footy because 10 and 9 had the rights and wouldn't let fox show any of the games. The fans suffered. This is great news. Hopefully things will be as good as there were before the switch a few years back. No more crappy callers of the game.

Just as long as Eddie doesn't move to 10 or 7, it should be OK. As long as the motorsport on 10 doesn't suffer it's OK. Considering the number of motorsport events on 10, it wouldn't surprise me if we got screwed over for footy

Personally, I was really hoping 9 would get it.
Why??
Coz I ИИИ HATE football.

That way, all the footy-followers would be stuck with Eddie Everywhere, and us rev heads might get Saturday AND Sunday racing in prime time!! :

And 10 better bloody not stuff-up the racing, coz they'll get a crankshaft around the ears if they do!! :
Ohh well, here's hoping for the next contract... :

I thought 9 had the best coverage by far. I didn't really care much for 10's Saturday night calls.

I'll mirror the concern that Channel 10 might stuff around with the V8 coverage to show more AFL. I haven't read anywhere about the structure of the coverage.
Let's wait and see.

No, The Footy Show was on 9 long before they got the rights to show the games.

Yes, its good that Eddie is gone but Ch 7 have Bruce McAvaney and Tim Watson, so its a no win situation.

Us Queenslanders will be able to watch REAL FOOTBALL in prime time. Not this poor excuse for football they play here. Should be called either throwball or runball. Because the FOOT rarely kicks the ball.

I don't know how Nine keep up the ratings, talk about Passion Fingers.
I don't care who shows it, just as long as the "Aerial Ping-Pong" doesn't interfere with my motorsport viewing. Besides, Fox-Footy show every game for the last 20 years 85.6 times a year! sleep: :

I agree. I was hoping that channel 9 would win the bid so that channel 10 can concentrate 100% on being the home of motorsports.

Um, TEN still have the footy + they had nothing to do with friday night it was all nine, sucks that you got it so late and after that excuse for a sport league

but yeah saturday is and will be until 2012 Ten's footy day....bring back the brucey it's so speeeeecial :

No real Queenslander would be caught speaking ill of Rugby League, just as im sure its the same for Victorians. And i believe the game you are looking for is soccer.

Sorry Jeld-Wen Falcon, but I read in the Adelaide Sunday Mail yesterday that good old Bruce is happy as a pig in you know what. He will be calling the games on 7 (According to him that is)
I agree with all the comments about the V8 coverage. F1 and Moto GP shouldn't be affected except for a few, because of the time differences. Bit worried about RPM as well! I'll ring Channel 10!...........
Rang Programming at Channel 10 and they said Quote:" We haven't worked out all the details yet. But you can be assured that we will NOT be replacing or even changing the time slot for RPM or V8's as We are the home of Motorsport"Unquote. Time will tell I suppose.

I daresay Ch10's slice of the AFL pie has not increased from the previous 2 years so it will be buisness as usual for 10 during the AFL/Motorsport calendars
