Default FPV GT Shockworks Coilovers

Thought I'd kick off this thread with some product pictures of the coil overs I recently received from Brett at Shockworks for my 2012 FPV GT MK II.

Here are some more pictures. Hoping it would help dummies like me who never installed suspension before. Still evaluating the overall handling of the car, but from what I have experienced so far the car handles like night and day compared to the factory set up at 2 clicks above from soft which has a maximum of 10 clicks.

Old shock and new shock

Yep, its covered a bit by the rubber sleeve. You can't really see it underneath the car, its just a matter of feeling it when adjusting it. Going harder makes it harder to turn and going softer is easier, so I just dial it all the way back down to soft then go up from there.

Good to see some $ on handling!

Have you tested them out on the circuit yet?

Nah mate. Just got the heights dialed in today.

This was the first upgrade I felt absolutely necessary on this car when I bought it. Just felt too disconnected from the road.

Still haven't taken it to the track since I bought it, but plan to as I now have the tires (Bridgestone RE11) and suspension in check for some proper track work.

Spring rates are 9kg front and 7kg rear. Could probably go higher for a more track orientated set up. Brett can do custom spring rates.

Hey dl86,
I think you will be surprised with the performance at the track with the current rates. The overall balance we found to be great for a combination of high speed corners, but also very good for the slower parts of the track like Winton or Sandown. I hope you having fun mate!!
Cheers
Brett
