Default Dominelli... Ford or Renault?

Has anyone heard anything about the future of Dominelli as a Ford dealer?

I haven't heard anything but I was driving past the dealership on the highway today and the Ford signs all look pretty faded but there were some new looking Renault banners flying there. The signage on the service building on Waratah St also looks pretty old and all but one of the lights in the Ford sign appear to be dead.

Also I notice on the Dominelli Renault website they have the same addresses listed as the Ford dealership/service location.

I'm taking my car in for a service tomorrow and I'm wondering if I'll need to find somewhere new to take it in the future. I'll be sure to say goodbye to the Ferdie Bird if it's the end of the line for them as a Ford dealer.

Thanks,
Will

nothing new about multi franchise dealerships. I doubt he would be leaving Ford behind. the Kirawee site brings back memories for me , I worked there in the EA EB days when it was Neville Ford and Dominellis were at Hurstville. saw the first pre release XR8s when I was there in a drive day at eastern creek.

Yeah I wouldn't have thought so either but it seems like a small site to have 2 brands being sold from the same location. I will ask while I am in there tomorrow. Hopefully you're right and they are just refurbishing and will sell both brands there.

Dominelli has been with ford for a long time but I was just as surprised when I got a letter a couple of months ago from Ford saying Alto in Artarmon was no longer part of the 'Ford family'. Maybe that was a totally different situation as I just saw an old thread saying Alto had had issues with Ford before.

we used to carry a lot of Falcons When I was there, we had 35 to 40 a month coming in from the factory and usually had at least that number on hand plus other models, normally at least 20 lasers up to 10 corsairs ( 10 to 15 telstars before that) a few capris and some commercials.
with the drop in numbers the site should easily accommodate another make

I know no one else is looking at this thread so it's likely I'm the only one who cares.. but au3xr6 was right, the Renault dealership is kind of separate downstairs and both the dealership and the service dept are moving to a new, combined location which is why the outside of both look a little shabby right now.

Good to hear they're sticking with Ford.

Dominelli will be moving to a new site in the near future (multi franchise)

As far as I'm aware, Dominelli own the old hire site a few doors down and have been looking to offload the corner block they're currently on for quite some time.
