Default Au idling rough

Hi Guys

Im new to this forum. Ive got a au series1 fairmont and car seems to idle very rough. If i rev the car to about 5000 rpm it back fires. Ive cleaned the throttle body, replaced leads, plugs, changed the oil filter, reset the ecu. Am i missing something coz its really starting to annoy me.

Ive got a pod and a 2 1/2 cat back exhaust and i can clearly hear the car idle at the lights and shake as it misses

Help !!!!

Take out your spark plugs one by one and keep them in order.Check the colour of each.Chances are that if one is clearly different then investigate that cylinder for injectors/orings ,inlet manifold gasket leaks etc. Also dont forget spark..

Backfiring at 5000 sounds pretty harsh though.
get spark looked at first ... could be a vacuum leak on the intake side too.
Maybe oxygen sensor .. but that shouldn't cause a backfire though.
Maybe needs a tune (although I don't think the AU would get THAT far out of tune though.
