My mate has a vl turbo with new manifold and exhaust but stock turbo, he thinks he can take me down the 1/4. I've got au xr6 with extractors, hi flow cat, stage 2 shift kit and 2 & half grand hi stall (plus couple other bits and pieces). Will I beat him in a drag? Google not much help for my quarter times. He does mid 14's out of the box

LOL yeh sorry, but will be close
14.8 or so stock the VL Turbos were. All depends on conditions, starts, health of engine and drivelines in both cars. Based on healthy engines and all that, possibly the VL due to power to weight but the AU XR6 high stall will help out alot of getting the revs in the torque VL Berlina Turbo Weight 1,325kg Power 150kw (201hp) 0-100 auto 8.2, man 7.8 AU XR6 Kerb weight (kg)1530 (XR6) 4.0 litre SOHC I6 with Variable Cam Timing. 172 kW @ 5000 rpm. (230hp) AU XR6 VCT 0-100 -8.2secs 1/4 - 15.7 break down VLT - power to weight ratio (horsepower:pounds) = 0.067486396580064 AU XR6 - power to weight ratio (horsepower:pounds) = 0.091440391636326 Basically, enough talking, more dragging I would venture to say, lean towards the falcon

Race him on the 1/4 mile, you will both have fun. Round up some other mates and make a night of it.
Who cares who wins or loses. Both cars are slow in modern terms.

Why do we keep getting these threads? There's only one way to find out. Take it to a drag strip.

Maybe a couple of tenths depending on how much difference the stall and other mods makes. |

Did the driver know he was racing??
I doubt the AU will crack a high 15 to be honest. I remember racing my XB 351, with a fesh engine and it ran mid 15 from memory, and a stock wrx ate it up and spat it out. Vl turbos are quick, especially with some mods. Only one way to find out for sure, put your money where your mouth is.
