Default More positive Ford Aus news: taking lead role in developing Escort

I'm on a roll with positive threads about Ford at the moment...
You may have heard that Ford Aus had a role in developing the new Escort (Focus based sedan for the Chinese market)?
Well it appears that Ford Aus, in fact, actually have the lead role with developing the car and according to CA's sources, it's as big a role as what Ford Aus had with the Ranger.
So in a nut-shell, the new Escort will be designed, engineered and tested in Ford's Aussie factories.

I wonder what the definition of "almost" is for their unnamed source? T6 Ranger platform IMO is uncomparable to any other work FoA's RnD department has done till now.

Yeah factories was probably a bad word. Facilities would have suited better.

People haven't jerryed yet that the Fiesta and Focus are moving to a common architecture on the next product cycle....

I was honestly just thinking the same thing. Every ford model on the market arm has a similar front end to the other. It reminds of Mitsubishi the way all their models front ends were the same.
Not everyone likes the new style (me including) so it seems the whole range is being based towards a niche market of buyers who like this hexy angley look.
