Default FPV/FH Falcon marketing question

Ok, so with the FH there will be no FPV. Nevertheless there is still a market for punters willing to spend a bit more, will Ford therefore offer this segment two levels of XR6T and XR8? In other words an XR6T using the 270kW engine and an optional 310kW motor? Maybe the XR6T R-Spec is resurrected for the 310kW motor, upgraded brakes, bigger spoiler, bigger wheels, badges/stripes, etc

Anyone?

If it doesnt happen Ill be surprised.

I'm gonna sit / keep my current 08 plate FGF6 regardless as I love it.
I will however keep an eye on whether they produce a "new range" of turbo I6 that is better or atleast comparable with the possibility of another keeper to park alongside my F6.
I'm not really interested in the sc V8 as good as it is.

I've wondered the same thing, i was thinking along the lines of SS vs SS-V and now SS-V Redline.

No reason it wouldn't work with the XR, the XR6 is after all the private base model.

XR8 Sprint anyone?

I still think there will be one last Ford branded GT before it's all over. Probably in 2016

I think you guys are all working yourselves up for nothing. Too much speculation with no one being reasonable. Don't want to sound like a morbid bastard but I doubt there will be anything else on offer other than a standard XR, XT and maybe G range using existing power plants.... Just cosmetic changes nothing more

The FH has not even been confirmed yet, all that has been confirmed is there will be a 2014 upgrade. May be a new model, may just be a facelift.

My guess maybe there will not be a next model, just an facelift and it will continue as the FG.

I think its safe to assume there will be a new model the way the Bob and co. have been talking. A remodelled front and rear end, improved emissions + some tech. We're guessing its the FH but it could be something else.

The spy shots indicate a Mondeo/Mustang front & headlights.

Ford are trying to reduce build complexity whilst they wind down production of Falcon and Territory. Less options and engine choices will be the go.

I will be annoyed if I cannot have a XR6 non-turbo with manual.

What I posted is what I'd like to see. But what we will end up getting will be equivalent to a kick in the crotch.

Let's be real, we all want to celebrate the end of falcon with awesome range of all performance variants getting even better , I think they will be worse. Fg will go out as the best overall model era performance wise , fh will suffer from missed opportunities everywhere you look, carry over fg gear with less build quality due to a variety of reasons ... no 1 reason being no one in management cares about falcon anymore.

Most top management are foreign nationals doing time here on the career ladder, the passion of Aussie fords fans is the exact opposite of the disinterest in head office and US. They couldn't give a s$&" about the heritage
of falcon and how the very last one will be remembered... Killing off FPV, GT, F6 and not to mention V8 utes made this very clear. F6 isn't even being mentioned at the funeral, despite it's 6 year dominance in Aussie performance (some would say10 years if you look at drag times)

Despite the massive performance and bargain that xr8 will be, the likely lack of big brakes and interior and seating position will be what motor and top gear will focus on...they will slam it as they tend to do in recent years. The hatchet job done on the rspec by Motor and Morley shows its not just ford management, motoring media are equal in blame for the demise in interest in the falcon.

We here know how great these cars are, I have a fantastic performing and handling 911, but it gets hosed by my ba typhoon and fg f6.

I'm put my deposit on the overpriced last gt rather than get the fh xr8, it might be a 6 year old platform by then, but I'm enjoying that car for the next 40 years.

I've got greater faith in fg that it will both last the distance and have respect of being the last ford model where the entire organisation tried their best to design and manufacture the best car possible. I'm truly hoping I'm wrong about fh,but the above sentiments are echoed by my dealer principal, who is a true blue blood and is severely disappointed by what he has seen in the last few years

I am wondering if Ford will even do a commercial for the FH when it is released.

What is the incentive to advertise it when it is to be discontinued and they do not want to highlight anymore than they have to that they are stopping manufacturing in Australia.

All through the last election campaign we had surveys every day on this that and the other. Why don't the media have surveys on Ford and Holden closing down and what the public think about it and if it will sway them from buying their products in the future?
