Default Octane Boosters.

Advice wanted on Ways to boost petrol octane.I.E by adding to ULP.I already run my EL on premium octane fuel,but wonder if I can just put in an additve to normal ULP. :

You can but why would you.... cheaper to pay an extra 10cpl and run 98RON as opposed to 10 bucks for a bottle of booster...

But yeah - if you're in the sticks and cant get premo, 91RON and additive will do the trick.

The increase in RON from a bottle of aditive reduces as the RON on the base fuel increased. i.e. 91RON, octane boost may add 4-5 RON points, but if you start with 98RON, octane boost only adds 1-2 RON points.

what about shells new fuel optimax extreme which is 100 octane first in oz with a 5% ethanol blend
