It's the reality. People simply don't buy LPG, privately, new. A few hundred units per year at best (a dismal 81 units in 2011).

Why on earth would Ford bother offering an LPG Terri for those sorts of sales volumes?

So it seems they are not popular on the second hand market, although i must say that i am checking them out because i would definitely like to buy one.

Some bargains to be had there, these things are truly under rated and make great power at great economy, would make a brilliant daily driver for someone that likes a full sized car like myself, can not see myself in a buzz box any time soon.

But that one of the points of the thread. the Falcon ECO Lpi is a great offering. sadly it was never marketed correctly and their are many with stubborn & unfounded anti LPG views

Terri ECO Lpi would have been an even better offering if they were made.
it would have been by far the most ecconomical SUV on the Market.

if you cant see that then theres no changing your negative views.

FG Ecolpi Ute-$60 for 400-450 kays per tank Cost $35-40K
13 Rio-$60 (ULP 95) 480 kays per tank Cost $20K
Now i dont know about you, but most people dont need to spend another 15-20K on a larger car that does 98% of the same things as a falcon that costs the SAME to run. That equasion changes somewhat when you are talking about buying a falcon secondhand though.Unfortunately buying second hand doesnt help keep the factory open.
Anyone that only gets 400-450 kms per tank out of an Ecolpi tank is doing something wrong.

Its a lot easier to give customers what they want than to convince them to change their mind about what they don't.

Mate, you need to remember, im in a 1 tonne cab chassis, tray sits wider than the cab for crap aerodynamics, often loaded around the city most days, this i would consider a true indictaion of REAL WORLD everyday driving. I dont hypermile, but i dont give it the boot all the time.
Despite how good falcons can be on the open road (im lucky to get 500k out of a tank on the highway incidentally), the average urban commuter WILL get better everyday mileage out of a smaller, lighter 4 cyl car. Ive rented a 3 cyl buzzbox several times and NEVER felt wanting on the highway or struggled to keep up with traffic.

Sounds like you're comparing apples with oranges there. Should compare the Falc ute with a 4 cyl 1 tonner thats loaded around the city (if there is such a thing), then it'd be a fair comparison.

For the record, the least i got out of a tank in my ecolpi was 550kms and thats in mixed conditions and without even trying. On the highway, i'd be looking at 650 to 700kms.
