I have an oil leak at the front of the engine. Oil is dropping onto the ground from the plastic guard that sits close to the sump. Some oil has run along the bottom of the sump. I am sorry I cannot describe it better or provide a photo. I suspect it could be the cam chain tensioner. Any other ideas guys?

There are a few areas that a prone to leaks. Like you mentioned the chain tensioner and the corners where the timing cover meets the head are quite common.
Other areas will be the timing cover gasket - the bolts can work themselves loose. The cam sensor has an O ring that can leak. The crank seal. Sump gasket. Oil can also weep through the three holes where the belt tensioner is bolted to the timing case. |

get some ramps, a rain coat and a box of degreaser. Clean all the oil/gunk off, pull the fans if you have to, then when its spotless go for a short drive. you should be able to see evidence of where the leak is. the plastic wind tray is pretty easy to get off if you need better access. what grade oil are you using?
