Two questions someone may be able to help me with.
Does the factory double din stereo only mount using the side clips on the centre dash panel and the 'rod' thing at the back through a hole in the metal framing behind the dash?? the reason i ask is that i want to install an LTD centre dash panel however this sits the stereo lower so i would need to lower the hole that the rod goes through in the metal framing behind the dash. Also since mucking around with the dash the ash tray light has stopped working. does anyone know if this is just always on?? i cant seem to find any sort of switch that would turn the light on when you open the ash tray. There is a difference in shape between the 'low' series (what Forte/Futura/XR's had) dash area and the 'High' one (what Fairmonts, Fairlanes etc had). You wont get one to line up onto the other type of dash, you would have to change the whole lot.
