Default Car rattles, shakes and shudders when turned off

Ever since I have converted to manual, 90% of the time when I turn my car off it shudders and jumps around a bit (coming from around the engine bay). Does anyone have any idea what it could be? It's a pain in the ars3 and sounds dodgy!!

sounds like the engine is running on a little when you turn it off, is only after driving it for a while, or does it do it if you start it then turn it off again.

it's not the tailshaft ? It's hard to pick where noises ar coming from. Maybe jump under the car when you shut it off and see if anything is visible.

um make sure the key is fully turned off, pull key out and see if it does it, i have experienced this bfor its funny (coz key was kinda still switched between off and on.lol

you picked it in one. jees i havent heard of that for a long time.
so does it sort of act as if it is stalling when you turn the key off??, like jumping around a bit, and shaking the hell out of the gear stick

Yeah I'm pretty sure it usually happens after it's been driven a while.

It kinda stutters around like it is stalling....

(And key is fully out and car turned off properly heh) :

while you figure out what it is .... anything from carbon to tune .. but it sounds like it is definately running on though

try turning the car off in gear (3rd or 4th) with the foot on the brake !!!

Pre-Ignition, the timings off I think

The plugs are firing a bit early so the pistons are still travelling upward when the petrol/ air mix is ignited.. so when the pistons are still going upwards they're pushing the hot detonated mix back up into the plugs and heating them up real hot (You'd be losing power to)

This means when you turn off the car the plugs are so hot that they don't even need to spark they still ignite the bit of petrol getting sucked in and makes the car "run on"

My mates dads ute does the exact same thing.. its funny

Oh and heres a few more things that might cause it. hope it helps

Causes:
# Plug insufficiently tightened
# Engine insufficiently cooled
# Ignition timing too advanced
# Plug heat range too hot

It has to be this.. you pretty much described pre-ignition symptoms perfectly

ANYWAY IM OFF TO MUDVAYNE/ SEVENDUST CONCERT IN BRISBANE
