Hi all,
As a long time Holden man, I've recently been looking for a new car and wasn't too impressed with the Holden small car range. Checked out the Mazda 3 hatch and it was ok, but I fell in love with the Zetec as soon as I first saw it. Pleased to say I ordered a new Titanium Grey Zetec which I'm supposed to pick up in about 3 weeks (maybe less). The VP Commodore is nearing it's end... I was just checking through Ford's site and didnt find anywhere indicating Roadside Assistance as being complimentary with the Zetec. Surely I read it wrong... but can someone confirm ? I forgot to mention anything about it when in discussions with the dealer, but I just assumed that it's complimentary.....Surely it's 3 years Roadside with any car bought in Australia these days ???? cheers !!!!! |

Hi Eddie,
Welcome to the team! Best choice of colour and model combination, it is a fantastic colour. Roadside Assistance is only standard with the local Ford models, Falcon/Territory/Fairlane. Focus and Fiesta don't have it standard. If you have RACV/NRMA cover it will cover this but unfortunately the roadside assistance isn't covered standard on these models although you can option it. Unlike the Holden small cars, you don't need to use the Roadside Assistance.... :the_finge Anyway, welcome to the club, congrats on your purchase, hope you enjoy many happy years of motoring!!

Congratulations mate, you have made the right decision. The Astra and Mazda 3 are not bad cars, but dynamically the focus is a class above, and you could well be driving Wheels car of the year. The Focus has made it into the final 4 and the winner is announced tomorrow.
My mate Karl has the titanium grey Zetec which is a superb looking car, and he loves it to bits. I’ve driven it, and while it’s not quite the excitement machine that my ST is, it is smoother and more refined with a real 'big car feel' when cruising on the highway. You’re lucky if you get it that soon, Karl waited 4 months for his!

Another Holden defector! *hug*
I came over from a TS Astra which I really missed but haven't regretted my silver Zetec. Honestly silver is the best color for this car. |

Yeah, I was a big fan of the TS Astra also.
I actually worked at Holden Customer Assistance for a few years so I got to know the ins and out of the car and it was very relable. Just spewing they stopped it. |

Anyway, you might miss the torque of the VP, but that's about the only thing. I had a VP as a company car ages ago which was a decent thing in its time, and quick in a straight line, but a bit of a blunt instrument. You'll love the absence of NVH - when your hearing returns! The smoothness is at the opposite extreme. I can safely say if you enjoy driving even a bit, you'll be glad you chose the Focus. |
