I filled up today. Don't know if it counts, but it was out by .1c. Think I can live with that

Is that why I always see signs on the bowser saying that minimum you should pump is 2l. Perhaps it corrects when you pump 2l or more?

Or you could just multiply the price on the board by the number of litres you put in and see if it matches what you've paid...

Most of these photos are just of faulty numbers...no dodgy deeds at all.

IIRC, one price was 1.39 a liter....

display said 1.90...

But the nine was obviously a 4 with the top closed in due to a faulty digit, as the number lacked the tail down the bottom that a 9 should have, and the price was rounded off (or just to slow with the trigger lol)...

So in actual fact, it was 1.40...

But it's much easier to send Facebook into panic mode...because it true on facebook right?

Well answered Nikked.

If anybody has a compliant regarding fuel dispensers (pumps/bowsers etc) regarding the quantity of fuel dispensed please contact the National Measurement Institute / Trade Measurement (formly known as weights and measures).

They have a online form you can complete or give them a call.

id ignore it all, as with pretty much everything on fb its all BS.
the counters on the bowser are secondary and the primary counters are at the till, nor accurate under 2l as mentioned previously.
you wont get charged for less fuel, the servos will cops massive fines if their pumps are not properly calibrated and arent measuring fuel properly.

I tested it at 3 servos around Ryde in the last week all correct at 1ltr and 10ltrs. So it another FB bullshit photo.

I also remember a testing and servicing Van at a Mobil Arvo ages ago also they would have to have calibration records as well.

My first job out of high school was pumping gas at a servo (remember full driveway service anyone?) Gilbarco would come around once a month, check the delivery of the pumps and calibrate if required. Randomly the weights and measures folk would turn up and check the pumps - if a pump was out of whack, paperwork was issued and the pump had to be closed until the fault was fixed.

I have noted on some pumps when I'm not dazzled by the prices that there's "2 litres minimum delivery" written on them.

Cheers!

i'm sure it'd be pretty hard to catch out a fuel outlet for ripping off customers.
