looks pretty cool.(better than i thought it would)
i imagine it would be a ИИИИИ whilst your driving (and i dont see the point) and the cops would quickly pull you up but i dont think youd have a problem if the car was parked or at a show as for the actual legality's - i have no idea

In Victoria you can have lights as long as they don't flash/ show red to front/or white to rear of vehicle. You cannot replace mandertory lights with different coloured globes.

illegal whilst driving never heard of that as long as they cant be seen there aint a problem really.. if the blue light reflects on your window etc they'll book you,i know cause i know of a person whom is fighting this in court (neons and the rules etc not the offence) |

how trippy on a dark night on a safe bit of road to see the car fly by with no lights on, just the neons.

Neons eh?
I've been thinking about the reverse actually. I want a kill switch that turns off all the lights inside my car at night. So at the flick of a switch, everything is off. It would make the outside world easier to see.

Im going to put a set of under car neons on mine soon even if they are "gay", at work we fitted a set of under car LED's to one of my mates car (VT) and he keeps getting pulled up and hasseld about them, mind you they are usually flashing a million miles an hour and in and out of just about every colour you can think of lol, looks like a disco on wheels.

You aren't allowed lights that are flashing, glowing to the extreme... other words don't distract other drivers on the road. (this is how it was explained to me by several different people) Neons are ok if the car isn't on and moving. Inside lights are ok as long as they aren't classed as distracting to yourself or other road users, in other words minimal light reflecting around the interior of the vehicle. (Again, this was said by several police officers and transport - they actually all said the same thing for a change). These rules apply as a general guideline and if you get pulled over and the police at that moment feel they are ok, off you go, but if they feel they are distracting, cop a fine etc. You should be able to look up the relevant legislation though in your state & check what it states (if anything). |

in talking to a policeman, he said that under car neons are all legal, in all colours in any position. your not allowed to be able to see the globes at all though, just the glow on the road/car. he is sure of this rule because he asked around and got back to me on it... that said, in car neons might be illegal who knows!

Looks gay!!!!!!!
And with the light on the inside of the car isn't it hard to see out of the car to see where you are going? I know that it's hard enough to see out of my car when the misses puts on the map light!

and btw by law your not meant to use anything but red orange and clear bulbs you still get cops who have no idea that pre 80's rides have orange indicators as reverse lights orange to indicate clear to reverse and see whilst driving at night red to stop anything outside these colours is illegal neons that glow red or blue and can be seen outside the vehicle by the police are infact illegal,(immitating a emergency vehicle aka cop car)i have seen plenty of ppl use the purple(night stick i call em) and get pulled over but never booked. and seen and heard others have been booked,so whom knows laws are bent and wish they'd just make em legal or not period! |

well im melb after lots of research and making sure neons outside the car is legal as long as its not red............... as far as inside the car goes you can have that too
as long as its not distracting for the driver .............. in this instance it should be fine coz i have neons inside my car front and back under my seats !!! and it does not distract me and since im very used to them i cannot drive without them i like light.. well mate if you got switch for it like i do just keep an eye and turn it off to be safe .. oh and the reflection depends i have dark interior and its hard for a cops to figure it out unless they right next to the car standing...... cheers
