Default Beryl buys Windsor powered E-Series

GreenMachine, or Beryl as he is more affectionatley known to his mates here in QLD yesterday showed that he cant resist the grunt of a Windsor over his 351 Cleveland and that, in spite of calling every E-Series owner an E-Mutant in the past, he himself was always secretly longing to be "One of the boys"

Welcome back Beryl.....

My secret shame...

But it's true - I am once again an E-mutant, and even worse, a Windsor-powered one! I bit the bullet last night and bought SVOPete's V8 EB Ghia...

Can't wait to get driving it, just need to sort a few issues (steering rack, engine mounts, another 200hp...).

Some pics:

You can get 200HP total from a Wheezer?

I've heard rumors that Windsors (I can't call them Wheezers now that I own one!) can go fairly well with the right mods.

Mine, however, will have no mods, because my car-modding money goes to the GreenMachine.

Was actually surprised at how well the fairly stock 5.0 auto went - am very keen to line Simmo's T5 XR6 up at a set of lights... Or, with the mega stiff suspension, through the mountains...

Basically, I just want to get driving... Should be registered by the end of next week.

Incidentally, from 0-100, the GreenMachine would whip the SVO. In fact, the GreenMachine would do it in reverse.

OK Matt, time to reveal the secret behind the Beryl. Is it because he reminds you of an old woman when he drives?

I think it's rather more extreme than that.

The GreenMachine would run from 0-100 and back to 0 again, light a cigarette, check it's fingernails for dirt, check its watch and then look back to see a speck in the distance through the cloud of exhaled cigarette smoke which may or may not be a silver EB huffing and puffing and definately not blowing the house down.

And that's saying something because the GM's brakes are less than fantastic.

Still, I welcome this new addition to Nick's stable. It's a nice old stick, and just about sensible enough to be daily transport. A sound purchase, thus far.

Nothing that $25,000 won't fix, mate! Donations gladly accepted.

But seriously, it's going to be off the road a minimum of another 18 months, so I wanted something that wasn't Cylinder Deficient (tm) to drive around until then. Ye olde EFI 5.0 seemed like a pretty good choice.

Besides, 304-powered VN Calaises were too expensive...
