Gees I never realised the dangers of battery fires with EV's until reading those artciles.......

It could be quite nasty for passenegrs if emergency services/fire brigade could'nt get to accident in time to put the fire out.

What happens when Lithium-ion batteries are mechanically damaged

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoFRrmhXoVw

On board batteries can be damaged if a car has a crash as severe as what occurred to this Tesla Model S.

What happens when Lithium-polymer batteries are mechanically damaged

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjkW3KUz5uo

Not that any of the batteries shown in the video are used in the Tesla but it does show the potential danger.

If it was a great big V8, people could have heard it roaring up the road and moved out of the way. Electric vehicle silence: one of the greatest dangers out there!

The thieving car thief was so dead it didn't matter.

Saved the state the expense of a cremation.

Simple solution is put one of those stupid beeping horns that are on trucks for reversing on every electric car. Think of the serenity.....

If you read the article, it says he was revived on the way to hospital

Most severe burns victims die from infection some weeks later.
