Default Removing ST sound symposer

Has anyone removed , turned off or blocked off the sound symposer. I'm sick of hearing it and want to try it out.

You can't turn it off - it is a mechanical device.

You could (potentially) remove or block the tube however.

Cheers

Where do you unplug it from? Hose coming out from under windscreen in engine bay?

No the electrical plug on the side of the symposer unit, which is at the other end of where the hose which connects in under the windscreen goes. It might be partially obscured from sight by the intake tube

Or you can unplug it for free.

But yes, the sound symposer is electrically operated and can be turned off. A lot of people get this done in their remaps.

I had mine tuned out with a new ECU file ages ago, you can buy manifold blanking plates, or you could remove the hose from the firewall plastic thing that I remove every track day to get air flowing through the engine bay, and then plug the hole with a grommet so engine bay air doesn't leak through when interior air flow is outside air.

I have removed my unit all together and purchased a block plate from a US company called BREEDT. Definitely worth it if you have an intake and exhaust as it removes the in cabin noise of the symposer.....but that is just my objective opinion.( i just found it too loud under accel)
