To me it looks like the LS1 GTS basically hit the brakes towards the end part of the lap, it was away. no way the GTS LSA would make up that time. I'd believe the v8 super car making it up due to its setup. It's a dodgy comparison, the V8 super car reeled in the GTS LSA early on but for the second half of the track barely just pips it. The LS1 GTS was miles away and then all of a sudden the GTS LSA is all over it... Lol |

Yeah its bullshit typical folden trying to make their latest non aussie powered donk look good.
Its too heavy but at least it looked good on the straight. That 2002 vx would have creamed it with some mods though.

It's not a race, it's all about putting on a performance for the crowd and viewers. The drivers are only concerned about crossing the line at the same time.

The VX Gts looked a damn sight better doing that lap than the Epicafail-Malibu or its plastic fantastic non-roadgoing race sibling.

I've thought for a while they should do something like that with Falcons in 2016 for final year of Falcon at Bathurst. They could run all the Bathurst winners around

It was entirely orchestrated, that's all. Not too bad to showcase some Holden cars.

They wouldn't need to orchestrate it. These guys are capable of lapping within a few tenths, consistently. A handful of laps to get up to speed determines their time, they stagger the starts based on those times... they finish together. It's not rocket science.
There's likely a significant difference in tyre grip .... over the middle section of the lap (which is tyre limited rather than acceleration or top speed), the VF was still some 4sec quicker. That's huge. |
