Hi,
Im trying to locate my inlet air temp sensor on my AU forte series 1. any direction / picstures would be much appreciated. thanks heaps guys

should be the ACT sensor its under the throttle body lower down on the inlet manifold (is on ef/el so I assume AU as well)

Why are you after it, has it buggered up or are you trying one of those Resistor things off ebay????

AU I6's actually have a TMAP (temperature and manifold absolute pressure) sensor. In other words, your temp. sensor is integrated into the MAP sensor.

yea its one for one of the resistors, my mate put one in his VT and improved it so wanted to try one on my AU :-D

i wouldnt be using one... doesnt it trick your computer into thinking that the air is nice and cool and adds more fuel..
my mate put one into his ef falcon.. and we were behind him. he put it flat out and blew unburnt petrol all over the windscreen......

I don't like the idea of them .. but would be interesting to see how it works though.
Although these mods also trick the brain into thinking the car goes better or economy improves ... what in actual fact happens is that your driving style changes affecting the actual results though.

I have tried this with a variable resistor so I could tell the ecu the inlet air temp was like 0 when it was 50 or anywhere in between. It does make some differences but none that I can say were actually worthwhile and I farted around with it for ages. In some situations it was good but mostly a waste of time and effort. get an edit.
