Came out to find that the battery has gone completely dead, measures at 0.5V & obviously nothing works. Tried to move the car for some access & then thought how do you remove the lever from "P" with no ShiftLock. After a bit of searching & downloading the Ford Handbook, it does tell you how to move the lever from P to N so you can move car. Drivers footwell, remove the side panel on the centre console. Look just under where the lever is and you should see a Plastic Yellow cover. Insert a good sized flat screwdriver & turn maybe 5 Degrees while at the same time moving the gear lever. Just passing on some information that might come in handy sometime. You know how well Mondo's & flat batteries get on

The next question is with a flat battery how do you get into a car that has been deadlocked. Was told by the local dealer with a brick. Is the only way.

Another reason to replace battery before it goes flat. Planning to replace mine at next service, as it has been about 3 years since last was replaced, and don't want the issues with flat battery to occur again.

I'm not 100 sure if the key still works. I tried locking it with the remote and then unlocking it with the key like normal and mine wouldn't unlock. Possibly there is a trick. Haha made me laugh the deo you comment did take it to heart. :p.
Might give it another crack to see what happens. On another note was also told by the dealer I would need the radio code after disconnecting the battery. Turns out I didn't. Which is good considering I don't have the code.

deadlock prevents brick then opening from inside handle should still open with correct key
should put all little hints together under models for easy access when in trouble- |

I can indeed confirm. Well with my car at least. If the car is either deadlocked with the remote or key it can not be unlocked using just the key. Maybe someone with the double lock feature can give it a try and either confirm or deny this happening.
