FPV GT , Falcon GT , they are both Aussie made Ford GT's based on the falcon body. The important thing here is the GT nomenclature and intent and lineage. I still consider my BFGT to be a falcon GT, because that's what it is in my mind. |

I view it differently. Any GT which is prior to "Miami engines" arent real GTs. The thing that gave the XY GT's worldwide recognition was the brutal power the vehicle had vs its competitors. Until FPV brought out the 5.0 supercharged v8, anything before it was lame in comparison.

Wandered around my local dealer last week-end and they had 2 GT-F's in the showroom, both with 'sold' on the side windows.
They were in the exact same spot in the showroom at least a month or more ago with the same 'sold' stickers on the windows. Not sure if they are still there now.

Why? When you have a $90k BF GTP for arguments sake that was slower than a $50k BF XR6 Turbo and believe me it is, why is my argument dog poo. Shouldnt be the pinnacle performance car in the range when it isnt!

Secondly, please don't compare a XR6T to a GTP, clearly you haven't driven one . Maybe an F6 . . . But XR6T? /endthread

F6 vs GT comes down to preference. Both great cars IMO.

What really s#its me about dealer-placed ads on carpoint/sales, is that they ALL seem totally incapable of even listing the Build Number, let alone photographing it, so there's never any way to get a feel for how 'lucky last' or personally significant the number might be.
Tossers.....

The great debate..
For me having a GT is about driving heritage and a name badge that is known, recognized and trusted by owners. Whether an F6 or something else is quicker is irrelevant because owning a GT is more than having the fastest car. My choice for GT was because I could be part of history, have a V8 sound and the bonus part of that is, everyone knows what a GT is not many know what an F6 is or for that matter GT-P, TS50, GT-E. F6 will have its place in history, but GT has history books, results and multiple generations of following that will never go away. Whether you drive an XR, XY, XA, EL, BF, FG they are all GT's. |

Lol GT fanboys, test drove a GT when I bought the F6, and GT was no where near the car and they wanted 15k more, this was before Miami GT but at the time it was the best car, I drove GT, GTS and clubsport and none of them came close

The F6 is a nice car but it's not a GT.
You can talk about "GT fanboys" if you like that's ok, it's your choice. You can enjoy your F6, also your choice. Likewise others can enjoy the GT's. No amount of chest beating will convince either camp their car sucks so I'm not sure why people try.

If I wanted a drag car , I would have bought the F6. I wanted a fun car that stirs the emotions and still has the performance capability for 95% of the stuff I throw at it. The other 5%..... The F6 can have it. Peace out. |

I love my F6 put you only get most the fun when you give it a bit of stick. Driving the olds mans S/C GT I dont feel the need to go as fast. Just IMO of course

Well, I just presumed 2 cars in identical size with similar features barring engine differences and say brembo brakes, wheel and tyre size may just draw some valid comparisons. You're right, i have never driven any of these so maybe i dont know what i am talking about. Anyone care to spare me their cars for a couple of days? |
