Misunderstanding then, I was responding to Syndrome's implication that the VF was doing poorly sales wise (I didn't mention Holden at all).

The VF is not doing poorly in the current market which has abandoned large cars. Compare it to Falcon and Aurion sales, both good cars but their sales are abysmal compared to Commodore.

Whoever is losing more money as a company doesn't concern me at all. As you said they are all shutting down local production, so who cares which one has less debt when they go.

When Falcon and Holden are gone.. the Chrysler 300C will be the only large car on the market..It will be interesting to see if it picks up in sales ?????

Rode in a 300c taxi 2013 model. The boot is miniscule and I still wonder how a car that looks so bold and intimidating on the outside can be so cramped inside. Worn out FG taxis had a much plusher ride than the yank tank and its motor was misfiring quite heavily at idle.

Jag XF would probably be closest match to a Falcon.

We looked at a 300 before we bought the XR6T and we laughed at the boot. There is no way we could live with a boot that small as we were carting around a massive double pram and associated child paraphernalia. We were coming from a Mazda 6 wagon and just couldn't even entertain the idea of the 300.

Not to mention the Toyota Camry and Aurion, and the Ford Mondeo.

But I guess that depends on your definition of "large".

I thought Holden was going to continue with Commodore post 2016/17? It just won’t be locally made & won’t be RWD?

Chrysler got my sale over a falcon last year...

Saying that its the Luxury model, so everywhere you touch is covered in Nappa Leather.

The boot does well for my needs (no kids and none coming).. either the missus's shopping, or I have fit 3 golf bags in it, and thinking I could fit 4.. it is super comfy ride and loaded with tech. if you ever get to sit in a Fully loaded SRT8 or Luxury model and take off your Ford glasses off for a moment.. you will really feel let down by the "luxury" G6E..... I was looking at one, but decided on the 300c luxury. but again, I have different needs to both, it does short around town trips and long highway drive.. 60% of the time its just me in the car, 30% its me and the missus or 1 other mate.. 9% of time they may be 3 or 4 people in the car and maybe at worst 1% of the time there five people.. in the 12+month I have had it, we have had 5 people in it twice.

But what will differentiate Camry/Mondeo ect from the 300 and Genesis will be the fact they are RWD.

22,000kms down and has not missed a beat.

Serviced every 6 months, 1st service was about $300, the 12 month service was $400.

Its solid as a rock so far, still love it..

Good on fuel... uses a little around town, only because my drive to work is on 5 mins each way thru town and i have a heavy foot at times. Brilliant on the highway. Its sits on 1350rpm at 105km/h in 8th.
