Hi guys , just put my fuel sender back in the tank and as informed by gauge tech , it may not work even thou it has new resistor ,and guess what it only gets to empty when half full ,so I'm onthe look out for a new old stock or good second hand unit for mk1 gt v6 tank .Any ideas where to source one or is there any alternative to fit the tank ?? trying to keep everything as stock as possible ,cheers

Some part numbers may be helpful (Source Ford Oz Capri Parts manual, Section 090)
They do however show that fuel sender units are common to V6 and 4cyl. The guage is after all only relative to the fuel sloshing in the tank (as you say, via degree of electrical resistance measured). - - - 9275 - - SENDER UNIT ASSY. - FUEL TANK GAUGE 69 All To Oct. 69 3038E 9275 C 69/ All From Oct. 69 69EB 9275 AD Gasket 9276 - - - 9276 - - GASKET - FUEL TANK GAUGE SENDER UNIT 69/ All 1600 cc 2400E 9276 B (but same sender unit in V6 so should be common) In-Tank filter - - - 9A011 - - FILTER - FUEL TANK 69/ All 113E 9A011 A |

No longer available, except I suspect via ebay where you are likely to be competing with quite a few others trying to locate one (driving up the final price).
I'll be hoping mine keeps working, until someone hopefully starts remaking them. |

Hi guys today I completely dismantled the mk1 ford capri fuel sender, being an electrical fitter mechanic by trade I decided to give it a go ...and it works . They truly are very basic inside and only consists of a swinging arm contact & a wire wound variable resistance bank. What I have found with this one was that the contact lost its tension & the wire wound resistor bank was dirty , a light polish with some 1200 wet & dry emery paper and put it all back together and works like a charm
