G'day fellas,
I know this thread is a bit of a broken record, but i'm chasing an AU Maf to replace the ***** 55mm POS on there now to help free up a few ponies. However, I've read/been told that it will run too lean up top and compromise my engine and possibly lead to damage. Is this true? It's totally stock (18lb injectors, explorer manifold, EL GT extractors and a basically stock single 2.5 inch SS exhaust) so i'm just interested in doing some tasteful factory mods for now and the MAF seems like it is the most restrictive point at the moment. Thanks, Jock.

Do a before and after on the dyno and check the air/fuel ratios as soon as you fit it, just to make sure its still safe. It will alter them but plenty of people have done it without any worries, but its not worth blowing an engine over.

I tried a few MAF on the LTD back when I had to have one.
Several were tried and I ended up with a T-Series which was very lean up top. So not recommend. Jock as Streeter said, bigger MAF and a tune will be your best option.
