Hi all.
I have just bought a low KM 2014 MC zetec diesel mondeo. I had the MA tdci previously and was pretty impressed. Sold it to take a job overseas. Have just returned. Any advise as to what I need to look out for in the newer model? thanks |

Quick question, can you please tell me the build date. I am interested to know if the Mondeo is still being made as an "MC" (was it built in 2013 or 2014). As the new model will be out soon and has obviously been out for a little while overseas.

Have had my MC Titanium 2.2L TDCi wagon 2011 build with 7k on the clock since early 2012 here in Germany. The car has been great without any issues and now has 39k. Only maintenance has been regular service.
My last car was an MA 2008 TDCi with equivalent to Titanium spec. in Australia before I departed Oz. Only complaint on both cars were the Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres supplied from new but no car issue itself. I am about to sell the MC and move back to Oz in the early New Year 2015. I will miss the MC with the larger engine zipping along the Autobahn but looking forward to a new release Mondeo or Kuga in Oz. Given the spec level of the Titanium it will be difficult to go down model to anything else.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase.
Its so new that you shouldn't find any issues with it. The main difference over the MA is the driveline. The engine is similar but with some major updates to turbo, cylinder head etc for more power, torque and economy. And of course the Powershift dual clutch tranny is completely different to the old torque converter one. The important thing is to get it serviced according to the book. The important one is the major every 60k, thats when the transmission service is done along with a bunch of other things like all the filters. You do not want to miss the tranny service. |
