Default 1995 Festiva question

Hey guys, this is my first car a 95 festiva WB manual, i bought it knowing it had some minor issues and that it was unregistered, but im now guessing that it has a busted head gasket, the gear leaver needs to be tightened (it rattles), tyres and the boot lock needs to be fixed.
Id also like to change from the stock rims and hub caps, to some standard looking alloys and install an immobiliser etc for cheaper insurance.

Now my question is, should i bother getting it repaired? Im guessing its a head gasket from a little google earlier, whats happening is when reved it spits out water with force, leaving at least a meter long puddle behind the car, and also quite a bit of white smoke.

You could always give it a crack yourself to fix it? The problem is the car isn't worth paying someone to do a head gasket, it will cost you more than the value of the car.

Na, i dont have the tools or the knowledge, im not really a car person. But this car drives as well as my mums mazda 2, just this issue with that stuff coming out of the exhaust.
And anyway it only cost me 400 bucks to buy the whole car lol

What you describe sounds like a blown headgasket or cracked head.Not worth fixing headgasket or replacing head.May be worth using a liquid head gasket repair product such as Chemiweld,Silverseal etc as these are quite cheap to buy and may fix your problem for a while at least.

Seeing as you already have the car and it's unregistered perhaps hold onto it for parts and buy another one that presents a little better and has rego.

That way, you can drive it, buy a service manual and have a tinker with the broken one. They are not that hard to work on.

The sum of your repairs will be around the same anyway - then you need to double it to get it on the road.
