Ford AU 1 is doing strange things, when trying to open doors or boot
First boot & rear and pass doors would open with remote but drivers door would not open with remote. Then next day boot would not open with remote. Today all doors and boot would open once only, then had to lock all doors with key remotyes would not work again. Took battery off for 61 minutes. Relearned both remotes and doors showed remotes had connected to system. Now if i open rear doors or passenger door by handle they click twice but front door is locked, also I cant open with key or the inside handle wont open front door. Any ideas would be of great help |

Yes that does sound weird.
At a guess, bad battery in remote/s, bad car battery, or a problem with the BEM (body electrics module) or a faulty door lock actuator. I would start the diagnosis by looking at the remote batteries & lock actuators. Also, has anyone had any of the door skins off & fiddled with any internal components? |

I have changed remite batteries.
I sounds like rear drivers actuator is not making same siund as other doirs they make a clunk and open doors but rear driver side makes a slight click only. I have ordered a new rear door lock. Strange thing is 40c today and doirs stopped doing anything and key would not open door. Just have to wait till module areives next week. Thanks Don |

Well its all fixed, thought I was going to have to pay Ford big dollars to fix.
Bought r/rear lock assy on ebay from "Victory Automotive", Took total 15 mins to replace including door panels off/on. Now works as new no strange opening or closing correctly. I would say the BEM cycles into error mode on faulty lock and depending on when it does this different operations fail on the doors and remote, I guess they don't put much error checking in BEM code. |

'tis the nature of all things electronic. Strange things happen upon failure!!!
My drivers door inner handle has a broken retaining spring, for example. Not a major issue, it just means the handle isn't tucked in to the door skin nice & tight....like I care about that! In a vein attempt to rectify, without buying a new handle of course (complete Dutch tightarse here ok), I simply moved the mounting point that is on the end of the cable that connects to the handle, & thus cable is then connected to the lock. I thought I was really, really clever. Put the door skin back on & "voila".... the damn door wouldn't lock!!! There was the slightest bit of pressure being put on the cable, enough to hold the inner handle in tight but too much for the lock....so it wouldn't !!! |
