Default Capri Insulator Sleeve

Hi All

I am trying to reassemble my rear suspension as I cant remember how the axle was attached to the rear leaf springs when I pulled it all apart. I know how leaf springs normally go together but this Capri has me a little confused. So I checked the service manual which shows a part (an “insulator sleeve”) that I don’t recall removing from the car when I disassembled it. Do other people have this part on their capri? I searched google images for Capri rear suspension but it was inconclusive.

Im confused….. if I did have these and have lost them during the project its going to suck trying to get replacement ones.

Cheers

See Super Pro site...
http://www.superpro.com.au/?v=ford-c...1974/999500061

Rear Leaf Spring Saddle Mount Bushing
OEM 1460910, 52mm spring width SPF1979K 1

Fitting is one bush on top of leaf spring, with another underneath - hence 'sandwich' bush.

Ahhh the plot thickens. As it happens they are already sending me a set of those. They were missing from the box when I received the kit I ordered from them for the full car. But it looks different so I didnt think they were the same item. In the superpro picture they look quite thin compared to the item in the service manual.

And in the service manual there is no bushing on the underside of the leaf spring, just the steel plate.

Ok well thanks for clearing it up, Ill wait till they arrive and put it all together. Fingers crossed!

The factory service manual has the same diagram, but it's misleading. This 'photograph' from the manual shows it better:
