Default What have you run over or hit with your car?

The duck thread got me thinking about my altercations with various wildlife

I collected a galah driving to Bathurst in 1998
I ran over a cat in 2002

Fortunately neither of them made any damage to the cars or left their internals splattered on the cars.

FF

NB - Looks like I am due to hit something this year! :

Does it count (or even matter) when you dont actually know what you hit...
I ran something large and dark over on the way home Monday night...
it was really late and I do know it was hit by a truck about 2 minutes after me.. so No I wasnt going back to look at what it was.

only a little bit of damage but hey as others say.. it will buff out _

I had a Sulfur crested ИИИИy hit my passenger side mirror in my EA, after i hot my power pole.
I had a Phesent hit my barina GSi and bust the fog light.
I hit a crow in my XGXR6.

And the best one was when the Pit wall at Winton jumped out in front of my in the ED.

Not me, but my Dad hit a guy on a bike 20 years ago when he was an interstate truckie. Killed him.
Wasn't his fault, and there were several witnesses who made statements saying that they saw him trying to avoid the guy, and there was nothing else he could have done to avoid it.
The local cops knew the guy (town drunk), and they agreed with the witnesses.

I had 3 people in the back of my car the other day. That sits it about 50mm or so off the ground...
Anyway this possum ran out infront of the car, so I hit the brakes, as I'm not one to hit animals if I can avoid it safely. The possum stopped in the middle of the road, on the lines, so I started driving off again when the stupid thing ran back out infront of the car. All you could hear was BANG BANG BANG on the floor of the car.
Turned around to see if it was still alive, and the thing was no where to be seen...

Oh, i forgot this one.
I was driving an Army Mack accross the Barkley Tablelands near the QLD/NT border, and i had a big 6' Red Roo jump out in front of me.
Needless for me to say, i was doing 100km/hr and there wasnt much left of him.

Just a bird. It just sat there, seen me coming, doing about 60. then 'thwomp' and it hit my roof, then over onto the boot, then that was it.

I havn't had a good run with trolleys. Hit one with my eb falcon while reversing and the thing went flying down the car park and flipped. I sure showed that trolley whos boss. Went home and checked the bumper as well and it had a tiny mark on the grey bumper. Other time I reversed the ba into a trolley. Left a little indent in the bumper. All these incidents would have been avoided if people put the damn trolleys in the bays.

Oh, I did hit a possum coming home from Star City one night (I think it was a possum), wasn't fun with a car load of hysterical girls screaming and crying at me.
Didn't stop.

We also had a bus hoist fall off the back of my Dad's ute down a fairly steep hill near Tempe. Almost a ton of steel, huge bang, blocked the road for ages until we could get a tow truck to come and collect it.
Lucky I was in front of my Dad, or I would have copped it, and I wouldn't be here now.

I hit a fox one night on the Hume highway at 110km/h with the front corner of the bumper of the ol' EF. Only i tiny split in the bumper.
Have also collected a roo's head with the diff one night. I couldn't avoid it, so went of the top.

I caught a couple of roo's with an XC GXL, broke the grille!

I also copped a ИИИИatoo on my shin while riding on the highway from Augathella to Tambo (Central Qld). Luckily I had MX boots on... not so lucky for the ИИИИatoo.

Collected more roos in EA Falcons, koala in an XF (he survived) and split a pack of 27 emus on a trailbike on a highway.

I don't think I've ever scored a dog or cat, though...?
