Default Got away with it for another year.

Well, I got woken up again this morning at the crack of dawn by my daughter wanting to do the Easter Egg hunt. I told her she didn't need me and to go work it out for herself. The reason is, I took to making it a true treasure hunt by hiding some bigger eggs and writing out clues for them to follow to find the eggs. 2 sets of clues, one for each of my kids, that kept them occupied for nearly an hour.

We gave them a couple of feature easter gift eggs "from the Easter Bunny", on their beds then there was the egg hunt for the smaller ones. For those that missed last years easter egg thread, I got sprung hiding eggs by my little girl and had to do some quick thinking to keep the Easter Bunny alive so I told her the Easter Bunny didn't have time to hide all the eggs and left them for the mums and dads to hide them for him.

It went like this - Santa can be in and out in under a minute because all he has to do is dump the presents and go, that's how he can get through it all in one night. If the Easter Bunny had to spend the time to hide all the eggs he'd be at each house for an hour and it would take 2 months to get the job done instead of 1 night, so he gets mum and dad to help.
Once I did the maths with her she was satisfied. So the Easter Bunny survives and they still believe, and I get to stay up till after midnight writing out clues and hiding eggs to keep the fun in egg hunt. But I also get to feign ignorance and astonishment at the feature eggs on their beds, which feeds the Easter Bunny belief.

Hence I say YAY, we got away with it for another year, lol.

Good work, excellent quick thinking... you sound like a great Dad!

Hate to say I'll miss my little girl today because of us both working jobs with bastard hours, but at least the inlaws put on a good hunt for her and her cousins!

My youngest boy is 9 (already!) and he's still happy to accept Easter Bunny does the rounds.
Took him bloody ages to find all the eggs though, mum went a bit too far.
And now she's spent the last hour telling him to stop eating so much chocolate
