Hi guys my mates looking at buying a ed ghia 5.0 just wondering do they come standered with LSD is it a 2.77 ratio or ? and did they all come in auto from factory

your best bet would be to get underneath the car and have a look.

Most would be auto, but a few manuals are about AFIK.

I'd say 3.27 LSD, I don't think 3.23 came out until EF's? Or was this also available on EB and ED's?
Where abouts is the ratio stamped on the diff? That black tag on the filler plug just says "High Performance" something rather... |

EA-EBI you could get manual Fairmont Ghias, even in V8 form. EBII went Auto only.

I seriously doubt manual V8 Ghias, the only manual was the XR8 (from memory)
EA2/EB1 had 3.23 in some models including Ghias with the 4sp auto or manual, EB2-ED had 3.27 then EF went back to 3.23 |

yer 3.27LSD and ther's some one on the forums (claming) his EB series one(i think) has a factory 5 speed i thing cant remember his user name but the eb's silver and it's got a GT kit on it
might b in show and shine EA-ED's thread i wish my ED had a factory 5 speed:( |

I think there were only 30 EBI V8 Fairmont/Ghias made, unsure of exact number but there were definately made.

well guys thanks for all your replies me and my mate went and had a look at the car it turned out to be an EBII Ghia but the guy advertised as ED and it was not so great now my mate is going to look at some others during the week thanks again guys

i have eb II 5.0l factory manual.... full optioned car fitted with manual and GT clutch from factory (or at sunshine ford dealership)

Rayman, I agreed the std GL / GLI / Futura coudl coe with a V8 Manual.. I assume yours is not a Fairmont though...

is a fairmont ghia... definately a factory fairmont, has the extra sound deadening in the roof lining, tell tale signs of a firmont etc....
