Almost certain the second one 08/04 is for the steering rack studs to be spot welded for safety reasons I would also like to know what the first one is for? |

just did a search on these forums. Typed in SRCC215 and it came up with the another thread about the steering rack recall. On the third page it mentions this code, and someone called ford and found out it was for the Throttle Cable Recall. To replace the rubber grommet or something.
Hope this helps.

Well I know I don't have the steering rack stud recall ... as I just pulled the buggers out and replaced the steering rack/power steer pump on Monday.

HLC was saying that the problems the steering rank becoming loose where between 1st June 1998 and 22nd may 2001. Just brought a auii yesterday manufactured on the 23rd May 2001, makes ya wounder if it too needs repaired? ONE DAY>really!
I used to be a Holden man, but thanks to this forum and driving a few XR's lately I changed my tune. So thanks all you guys out there who have added some really important information and helped me make the right decisions when purchasing. TNX |

As long as they are torqued to 80Nm you should be fine ... I went back and get them checked just after I had it done .... and they were fine.
