The Japanese style plates is a good idea but the cartoon character ones they released a couple of years back was a joke.

No seppo ones for Jeeps, what about Korean ones?
May as well cancel the skippy one, no such thing as an Aussie car soon anyway so no need for Aussie plates. |

They're everywhere anyway.

Vicroads make squillions off plates. Most of the plates you see sold for up 60K and more at Shannons auctions are Vicroads property.

Plates to fit every car plate recess is A okay in my book. They've got the Euro's and the American ones so why not have the Japanese ones? At least the Jap import drivers won't have to bend the standard issue plates at the edges anymore! I've actually just picked up one of the last 2 character Signature plates available as a bit of an investment. They came in a metal briefcase with a signed certificate and etched keyring. Nice touch. Big fan of numberplates and intrigued by the history of vitreous enamel heritage ones too. I hope one day to invest in one. |

You know what, I asked them if they could do a green-on-white plate with 'Victoria - Garden State' on it so I can have my Sprint's original plate back on, and they said no way. If they can do these anime plates, they can do the Garden State plates, best ones ever for Vic IMO

I love the premium personalised plates here in Queensland. They take up to 7 letters and numbers.
Of course, there's no damn way in hell I can justify spending over three grand on a printed piece of plastic that would have cost a buck or two to make... |

I remember when the ACT plates had "Heart of the Nation" on them and people changed heart to fart.

Excellent! Will look into it next week.
My personal all-time favourites were WA country plates, with each town/shire on it as a 2 or 3 letter abbreviation GN - Geraldton/Greenough GN. - Gnowangerup BE. - Beverly KM - Kalamunda MDG - Was it Maddington/Gosnells? MW - Mullewa MI - Mingenew DO - Dongara E. - Esperance? AL - Albany etc etc These plates had real identity and I know of families who would try to get the same 'number' for each town family members lived in
