Don't have to be two different cars, same car can feel completely different on different days, ambient temp can have an effect, How many of you have driven on a frosty morning thinking WOW this car is humming, then on the way home in 30+ thinking wot the fek happened!!

Service history, brand of tyres, how they were driven.
I get rentals a bit. I had 2 Caprices last year with 10,000 kms each on them and they drove differently. One had balls the other was a pussy cat. No doubt one was flogged and the other had been driven sedately. Just luck of the drawer probably. Not worth losing sleep over. Ive also driven brand new cars that feel different too, especially in the steering department. I always wonder if some cars are a few mm out the way they pull to one side even after a wheel alignment. Another one I experienced was my BF II Super Pursuit Vs a colleagues BFII Cobra ute. My car was the 290 and his was the 302 5.4 and my car made his feel like a boat anchor. We could never work it out other then mine had been driven hard since day dot where as he loaned his to his old uncle when it was new for a few thousand kms and it was never driven hard to start with. He was so disillusioned by it he sold it and bought an FG GT. He made sure he test drove it before signing the dotted line.

Maybe it’s just all hypothetical and they don’t really exist.
I know if someone said to me they’d bought two identical cars that weren’t actually identical at all, I wouldn’t have driven them to check the differences even if they had begged me too. Unless of cause they were both a serious bit of performance iron, then I would have shown no mercy and fanged hell out of both of them to try and do everything within my power to get to the bottom of the mystery. In truth I probably would’ve looked at him strangely and just said, “you get that!!” |

One had an AMG air freshener in it.
The faster one had a steering wheel cover from an Aurion on it. Both had a chronic fapper driving them. |

When i worked in the govt we would get commodores or falcons , usually in groups of 3-4 at a time and the difference from brand new between identical cars was astounding. I used to give my personal allocated cars a rigourous time from brand new and they were always the best vehicles over the govt lifespan. I could from time to time hop into some real slugs or some rockets or anything in between in a batch of cars.

I'm sure it's to do with the way they have been driven through out their lives. I know that my AU goes ridiculously hard for what it is, because most of the time I'm thrashing the old girl, whereas my mates AU of the same age and very similar mileage is a complete slug compared to mine, just because it was babied by and older gentleman for most of its life! Disconnecting the batteries to reset the learnt tune may bring them back to a similar standard, can't comment on the steering though...

no two vehicles are identical , i found the same with trucks, if you drive 20 new identical trucks, most might feel fairly similar, but some will feel different to drive, for example kennys i drove some years ago had very pin sharp steering , almost too sharp some might say,
out of the fleet one or two felt different and much nicer to drive, perhaps the alignment was different, or different tyre pressures , or different tyres, i dont know, to glance at they where all the same , but some drove differently. |

Babied cars do feel different, like they never really live up to there full potential, driving something hard doesn't mean its "abused"

I'd say one was made on Friday afternoon, the other Wednesday.
My mother's datsun was like that. she'd complain about it driving sluggishly, so i'd take it and 'fix' it by giving it a good fang.

We have a fleet of Aurions where I work and it seemed to me incredible that they all feel the same. I can only think of one I got into and the seat range of adjustment was a little less. Probably just something stuck under the seat though....
All up around the 100K mark too.

Seriously, just go away Hulk. Like to Siberia or something where not even a satellite-based ISP can get to you. Each and every one of your posts is an obvious troll and diminishes the worth of the forum with every single one of your post click actions.
If you can contribute something of real value, something that can stir up a proper debate (and not your troll bait efforts) or something that contributes to the betterment of the forum then please do so. Until then (or if you can't for whatever reason), do the forum membership a favour and refrain from posting anything. |
