Yeh, that looks like the correct bracket. I think your left one is a bit bent from a nudge sometime in its past (you can see the grill is bent behind it too).

The little rubber wedges that help space out the bottom part of the bracket from the grill should have raised lettering on their thickest side saying "OUTSIDE" if they are genuine, and they still appear to have the plastic spacer and original coach bolts on the top part.

Thanks for all your help on here! I do have an option to pick up another Mk 1 Gt 1600 from a friend plus a spare car which are in ordinary condition but heaps cheaper so I might still get one done up eventually!!

Noticed you have a few bids on it already. Will be interesting to see where it ends up. It difficult to find unmodified capris and apart from the rear seat and a few extra gauges, looks like yours is spot on original.

Went for $11,700 in the end. Nice retired bloke who used to work in the car industry and is looking for a project. Its returned to just around the corner from its original home too, which is cool.

I already miss it. Was sad to see it go but its nice to have some room in my shed again!
