If that is the case, my XR8 would be considered to be a new car 'sale' in August. Thanks for clearing that up, gents.

what are Ford's sales forecast for these cars? whilst companies do try to sell as many as possible, their main goal is to be profitable. |

It's not when they are registered. Otherwise when you bought a car interstate and did not register straight away the sale would not be recognised. |

It would be when registered. I cant imagine why you would buy a new car interstate, and wait to get it registered!!!!!!!!! Could you imagine the balls up in the figures if it was counted when sold. When is an imported car sold? Fleet cars often dont go thru dealerships. I think some of the imported cars are sold a few times before they even get sold thru the dealer. |

Apologies. I meant to say when the car is delivered (not sold) and/or reported as delivered to the manufacturer.
Believe it or not I have sold cars that were not registered for months after delivery due to having modifications made to them. |

So from what I can see the sales breakdown of other Fords is
Fiesta 387 -31.2% Focus 508 -53.6% Mondeo 161 -57.2% ... is this the newly released model? EcoSport 323 Kuga 487 -20.9% Territory 871 -5.6% Sales of Territory are stable, and it gained a spot as Jeep crashes in its segment. 871 is pretty significant and you have to ask where the Territory buyers are going upon its demise (X3 or similar for mine, I like the ride/handling). Kuga sales seem pretty solid.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It isn't the current lineup that is to blame, by all accounts the Ford imports are an awesome bit of kit. The Ford brand is toxic for a multitude of reasons and Ford marketing are doing five eigths of eff all to remedy that.

Those sales add to 3391 and total is 2974. Go auto reports Mercedes passenger cars sales at 2114 and total at 3052. It seems car sales are not exact science :-) .

maybe I mistyped. it still shows that the vast majority of Mercs are cars rather than trucks which was the point.
